After a 1:30am wake-up call and a few hours of climbing we finally reach the glaciers. Hidden crevasses are always a danger and we needed to rope-up at this point, just in case. As we strap on our crampons and make various adjustments, Eldorado's peak is just visible against the first, barely discernable, hint of dawn. |

An hour or so later, just two or three hundred feet below the summit, the sun rises over the distant mountains. |
